God works in mysterious ways.
This morning I was going to do all errands, as I didn’t do them yesterday. At the last minute I decided to just go to the bank and come back home.
On the way home a song came on that I’d not heard before, as I’m new to listening to the Christian radio station. The name of the song is ‘Even if’ by Kutlass. The words spoke deeply to this broken heart of mine that is slowly being healed.
When I got home I looked it up on You-tube so that I could share it. When I previewed it in Windows Live Writer, the date at the top of the preview said Sunday 9 Dec. 2012. Oh my goodness, I broke into sobs as this was the day that my dear husband went to be with Jesus, His maker, Lord and King.
Hearing this song today was no coincidence. My husband and I prayed, hoped and trusted in Jesus for healing those 4 months he was ill, but God had other plans. In the end my husband was ready to go and I had to let him go, even though I didn’t want to.
I truly believe that God does work all things out for good. We will know all when we see Jesus. Until then, may we continually believe in Him for all things, even when we can’t stand the heartache and pain.
I am thankful to God for working it out so that I heard this song today.

That was beautiful. I've been healed of a bad health problem and I was very surprised. My thoughts were why me, why now. I think I didn't feel I deserve it. It was a very humbling experience. God's ways are higher than our ways. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to hear that you've been healed of a bad health problem.
DeleteGod's ways are definitely much higher than our ways.

Indeed God works in mysterious ways, sometimes not of our understanding. This incident of the song, the date etc was truly God working in a wonderful way.

Not of our understanding, that's for sure. God does let us know He loves and cares for us deeply.

What a beautiful gift you received from the Lord today! There is no doubt, that song was delivered just for you. Our God is so tender and He knew you needed a personal touch. Our God is like that. Thank you for sharing your special gift with us.

It really was a personal gift from God. It made me feel so thankful to him. Sharing experiences like that bolsters the faith of all of us.

I agree with the others... God knows your heart and he knows that you are still healing and he will not leave you alone ever! I believe that you came across that song because God is walking with you daily and he understands.
ReplyDeleteGod does know our hearts better than we do and sends things to us meant especially for us at just the right time.

I sang along and cried to this song many times this past year. It was my prayer.
ReplyDelete(I've tried to comment on your blog several times from my other computer but it won't let me for some reason).
I've not heard this song again since that one time, well, except for looking it up on you-tube. I need to see if I can listen to wayfm online in my computer as I don't have a radio connection at home. My heart really goes out to you with the loss of your son.

ReplyDeleteI just can't help but share what is going on now, whether it be up or down times. I know that God is with me each step of the way.

Hi Lorraine,
ReplyDeleteI listen to songs by Kutless often. In the past few months, I've also started to listen to the Christian radio stations. In fact Ferree was the one who first introduced me to Moody Radio online and I often listen to that station on my computer. Since then; I listen to and pretty much that's all I listen to is the Christian music stations. I had always been so traditional with only listening to Hymns..but this has opened up a whole new world to me! I never knew just how uplifting and inspirational or how much these songs can really reach out and speak to you.
This song "Even If"..is very powerful and I have to admit, has brought me to tears many times. I remember at first being upset with this song when I heard it...I think you can understand why..but now I've grown to understand and I see the song in a whole different way... <3
There is also another song by them called "What Faith Can Do". This song perfectly fits what I've been going through. If you ever get a chance, look it up.
Yes, God does work in mysterious ways and I don't believe in coincidences... Thanks for sharing this!

p.s. I love the Swan picture :)
I think it is so wonderful how God uses music/songs to draw us to Him, whether in praise and thanksgiving or because our hearts are crying out to Him.
DeleteI will check out What Faith Can do and thanks for telling me about it and for becoming a new follower. I didn't see a blog for you.
The swans were a gift from my dear husband some time ago. They sit on the counter by the sink where I wash dishes. I have several birds that make up a small collection, paintings and figures. Swans mate forever and this piece was so right for this blog.
I don't believe in coincidences either.

I don't have a blog yet. I mean..I have one, but nothing on it yet. I tried a couple of times to write...but found it to painful and would draw a blank. I am not has comfortable talking openly or within groups. I'm more of a one on one type of person. I may take a different approach with blogging and not make it so much about me..I think eventually it will hit me what I should do. Until then...I do enjoy reading and commenting on blogs.
DeleteI Love Swans and that is such a sweet gift from your husband and perfect piece to use for this page.
And yes..Swans mate forever..as you can see this is why I choose my name Swans Forever and my email as Forever Swans..
I would love to write to you via email. You can reach me through my profile which has my email addy there.
DeleteBlogging has helped me a lot. I started blogging a little over 4 years ago to connect with women with same interests. They have become like family to me and I am thankful for them. Then when my husband went home to be with Jesus I was amazed and all of the love and support, from old and new friends.
Several widows have been a great positive influence and my heart goes out to all who are on this journey.
I figured your name had something to do with the fact that swans mate forever. God created these lovely birds and others also, that mate forever. That is awesome in my book.
Love and hugs to you and I hope you will write to me. We can be a source of comfort and encouragement to each other.
