here i am getting all this information on the reunion, and not a word of it here. oh well ... :-)

Got this from Pam Evatt-Machado this morning --

There will be a luncheon at Hebron Baptist Church (Dacula, Georgia) from 11:30-2:00 and a cookout at a park near the church form 5:00-7:30. We’re also trying to compile a recent update of where people are and what they’re doing similar to the one that Danny compiled several years ago. It’s going to be an enjoyable event for the whole family…a great way to remember the past and celebrate the present.

Plans for the 2007 J-man reunion are continuing.

Based on the input we received, the reunion has been set for Saturday June 23 in Atlanta, Ga.

We know it's a long way off, but time flies. Please put this weekend on your calendar and plan on joining us. Saturday June 23: Lunch at Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Ga; Dinner will be a cook out and more catching up at a local park We think this schedule will allow for traveling either Friday or Saturday morning, depending on the distance. We will plan to meet a couple of times on Saturday for fun and fellowship.

Please plan to bring your families, your memories and pictures. Also, please reply to this email even if you don't plan to attend or you are undecided. I just need to know who is receiving the information and who may be missing out. More information to come

it's about time.

i figure near on a year between posts is good. gives time for the dust to settle and all.

we've had a wonderful year so far. :-)

baptized 8 people since Christmas. for a congregation of 79 enrolled in sunday school, with an average sunday attendance of 45-50, that's a boost.

it's also been a sad year, as we've said goodbye to some dearly loved members who've gone on to their reward.

saw Craig Waddell this past friday at a partnership extravaganza in Richmond, along with Alice (Barbour) Rusher, and Mila ... ooooh ... what WAS Mila's last name??? she is living in Rockville (again -- she's been gone and come back --- though no longer working at MLC or for the IMB.)

Subject: Maribelle Waddell passed away yesterday.

Dear Friends,

Yesterday my Mom, Maribelle Waddell, passed away at 4:30pm. We are thankful she made it home.

Our whole family thanks you for standing with us. As we celebrate her life and the end of her suffering, we are also touched by the compassion and fellowship which such situations bring to the forefront of our lives.

Viewing and visitation will take place on Monday, Nov. 21st, from 6:30-7:30pm at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA. The funeral will be on Tuesday at 3:00pm, also at Hargrave Military Academy. The burial will be at Greenpond Baptist Church in Climax, VA.

For those of you who might be checking this periodically, my first word is an apology. Busy-ness is something of a standard 'mode' of being nowadays, but it shouldn't be an excuse for not keeping up with stuff.

On the other hand, I've not received any news items (until today) or pictures to really add any other stuff but my own ... and i already HAVE my own blog. :-) (if that guilts anyone into sending me something to post, please forgive the method. i don't mean to do that ... but hey, if it works ... ;-) )

I received this email this afternoon from Lea Coppage, who along with her husband Doug and daughter Karen served in Hungary with Ron Brown and his family. We were planning on meeting for supper this evening, but as events turned out, were not able to.

Please keep Ron, his family, and his father in your prayers.

We are actually heading to the States next week for a summer furlough time. We will be in California, Texas, North Carolina and Virginia. Quite a full time but also good to reconnect with our supporting churches, families and friends.

hey y'all!

i've heard from a couple of you directly ... that's SO cool. just an FYI, the comments option at the bottom of each post can also be used to communicate ... i check this thing several times a day ...

btw ... the link to download HELLO + Blogger (to THEN upload pictures yourself) is http://www.hello.com/ click on hello + blogger, and once you've installed it, follow the instructions to post using bloggerbot - it'll take you to the login screen for the blog - it will ask you for the username & password, which you should have received in the email i sent out to those of you who's email i had access to ... (if your email didn't get included in the letter, you can post a comment with it here and i'll get it ... let me know if you want me to delete it afterwards) ... then you'd click 'send pictures' (you may be walked through the settings section -- you don't need to change anything, just go to the bottom and click on 'save') ... then click on 'send pictures' up at the top, and go to the pictures you want to upload on your computer and select them and it will ask you to enter a caption for the picture ... then click 'publish' ... and it'll take a little bit to upload ... but SHOULD BE pretty quick.

plan B is send the picture(s) and caption info to me and i will upload them for you! (i know those instructions are MUCH shorter!)

either way -- it's great to be back in touch -- i'll be happy to help -- if you want to try the software and run into a problem, just zap me an email.
